hhmm.. it's been ages since I come here. Password pun dah lupa.. 
Blame it on facebook of course!! Ramai sangat orang download gambar raya in there 
Anyway, a story for today.. Madi tengah siapkan Ameer untuk pergi sekolah dalam bilik Ameer. Mama dekat bawah, working, while listening to the baby monitor.
Tetiba mama dengar Ameer kept on saying "SAI", "sai' papa", "SAI" (he stressed it again). Yang papa pulak "what??", "huh?", "apa dia?". Punya laa Ameer kept repeating the word.. siap cakap "Elmo sai papa". Papa still tak paham.
Mama kat bawah nih pun tak paham jugak sebenarnya.. hehe
Finally, after so long of arguing and papa still don't understand what Ameer was saying.. Ameer said "malu laa".
And papa pun "ohh.. SHY, cakap laa 'shy', malu" and both of us terus gelak terbahak2 macam orang gila.. hehe.
Moral of the story.. ajar laa anak anda 2 languages.. if he can't speak in one language, he'll switch to the other language.. mashaAllah

Kenduri for Ameer at Tok Ki's house on May 17th, 2008.
Tok Ki siap sembelih 2 ekor lembu for cucu sulung dia nih.. hehe. Yang best tuh.. mama ngan papa tak tau about this. Kalau we all know.. abih semua orang kitaorang jemput datang on that day.
Anyway, we had a blast even though tak semua yg cakap nak datang dapat datang. For those who called and bagitau they can't make it, I really appreciate that.
Thank you very much for those who drove & flew all the way to Paya Bungor just to us. Only Allah will be able to re-pay your efforts. JazakAllahukhairan.

Omaha Trip & Cheesecake Factory Trip

For those yang tak tau.. today is the 30th anniversary of Cheesecake Factory, and they sort of had a sale going on (not really!!). Basically, one has to dine-in, then u get to buy a slice of cheesecake for $1.50. Uncle Z ler bagitau papa.. and papa bagitau mama.. which is really a bad decision!! 
Mama nih mana ler boleh dengar anything get to do with cheesecake.. well.. I take it back... I can't hear anything got to do with dessert... just one of my weaknesses. Thank God while mama was pregnant with Ameer, mama had no craving for dessert what so ever. Kalau tidak, I bet I'm bigger than ever!!
Anyway, we had appetizers. Mama had this spicy tuna rolls, and papa had calamari (of course.. his favourite!!). Ameer taknak makan, so dia makan fries & mashed potato cenonet.
Of course we ordered 3 cheesecakes.. haha. Nasib baik anak mama sorang.. kalau 2 or 3.. makin tembam ler gamaknya mama nya..  )
Wish I had the camera to take pictures.. so no camera for cheesecake factory trip..

Now flashback to last weekend, we went to Omaha to see Auntie Ellie, Uncle Mahesh & Jeffrey. Of course we planned the trip together with Auntie Win & Uncle Chot, so we can see them and baby Nura too.
We had a blast of course. Kind of nice to just stay home and orang masakkan food.. haha.. Thank you auntie Ellie.. nanti kalau ada rezeki kitaorang sampai lagik.. hehe:D
Kesian jugak dekat auntie Win & Uncle Chot, since depa nak pi zoo. But since mama & papa are so NOT in the mood of zoo. Tambah pulak bila auntie Ellie mentioned about "crowds".. lagi ler papa taknak pi. Nanti laa yea.. auntie Win.. kita pi time budak dah start sekolah.. maybe next year ker in the spring.. while we come for 'garage sale'ing
Ohh.. that's what we did instead.. went hunting for toys & decor for Ameer's room. Ohh.. I need to post photos of Ameer's room!! We put in pretty cool car bed in there.. sort of to lure him to start sleeping in his own room. So far..so good. Nanti.. nanti.. I'll post those photos & the story behind it too.. once I got a camera.. hehe

I'm back!!

|
Well after so long in hiatus.. I thought I gave this page its' life again, per Atul's advise..
So many things happen during the 3 months period of course, and here are the summary;
-We went back to Malaysia for a month, and Ameer got to see all his family in person Alhamdulillah.
-Auntie Aud had a baby boy. Guess we need to do a roadtrip to see the new baby soon.
- I got into facebook thingy, and it's really addictive esp checking out everybody old & new photos.
-Our friend in KC moved to California.. so kurang lagi melayu kat KC nih.
-My friend's baby passed away in Malaysia. I wished I saw her while I was in Msia, but for some reason she didn't get our invitation to Kuantan, I think. Anyway, our prayer goes to you & your family. May Allah strengthen your heart, and your soul inshaAllah.
-Another friend had a baby and had a stroke & was in comma for a while. Alhamdulillah she is getting better day by day, and her baby is excellent. Thanks to all the reporters for sending me your news report..
- Of course Ameer turns 2 last two weeks. Unfortunately he was wheezing on his birthday so we had to take him to an Urgent Care. We were there for almost 3 hours, and we went home with an albuterol and a space chamber. Alhamdulillah, he's good now.. it's just an allergy season right now. He's on Singular too. That reminds me, I needs to do more research on Singular.
- Papa is busier than normal as Uncle Z is very nice to offer papa more job (in a very good way). I guess we would see less of papa once papa starts classes in Fall 
InshaAllah this is temporary.
- Auntie M is in the hospital now. She's due in September but dr. wants to monitor her for now. Hopefully she can go home soon, inshaAllah.
- Oh! Ameer took swimming lessons too now, every Sunday. He is such a good swimmer mashaAllah... even though he's swimming doggie style.. hehe.
- Another friend here had a baby girl last Friday.
Hhmmm.. I think that's all the summary for now. Here are some photos from Msia.

Mama's outing with Ameer & Imaan.. etc

This was taken 4/6/2008 on Saturday. Papa took care of Ameer & Imaan in the morning. And then after nap time, Mama, Ameer & Imaan went to see horses over at Sister Dana's "farm".
Those horses were gorgeous mashaAllah. They are at least 8 of them, probably more.. I lost track..
But, me and Ameer saw them almost everyday on our way to masjid. If those horses were by the fence, we usually stop the car & greet them. Most of the time, we just watch them.
Anyway, Ameer rode "Starburst". Don't remember if the horse is a he or a she. I think it's a 'she'. But subhanAllah, the horse was very nice to Ameer. She let Ameer rode her and was very gentle with Ameer. Ameer rode her by himself for about 5-10mins. Mama did rode with Ameer on the first 2 rounds, but then mama got down, and Ameer rode Starburst for the rest of 3 rounds.
Of course Sister Jamie was nice enough to help load and unload that HEAVY saddle. Poor auntie Jamie. May Allah rewards her with good reward inshaAllah.
Well, since I'm in facebook & fb's photo album is a bit easier to upload and not taking years to get completed, I've been too busy or lazy to load Ameer pictures onto this site..
So, please join fb, and I'll let u be my friend..
Also, for those in Malaysia, inshaAllah we'll be home soon. For sure we'll be very busy doing our normal tour of Malaysia , but do give us a call to check on us. Who knows, we'll be in your town and we can meet up

Pandan Chiffon Cake

Found, tried & love this Pandan Chiffon Cake recipe.
So, before I lost it.. I better copy it somewhere.

Ingredients:-
(A)
4 Large Egg Yolks
70g Castor Sugar
1/4 tsp Salt
(B)
85ml Corn Oil
115 ml Pandan Juice
(Blend 8 pandan leaves with water in blender to get pandan juice) --> I'd mixed 1 tsp of pandan paste to the water instead.
(C)
150g Cake Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
(D)
4 Large Egg Whites
70g Castor Sugar
1/2 tsp Cream of Tartar
Method:-
1. Preheat oven 170C - 180C.
2. Sift (C) twice, set aside.
3. Cream (A) until sugar dissovled using hand whisk. Add in (B) in the order listed. Mix well after each addition.
4. Fold in sifted flour and mix well.
5. Beat egg whites until frothy, add cream of tartar and beat till soft peaks. Add sugar and beat till stiff peaks.
6. Fold 1/2 of the egg whites into egg yolk mixture, gently with a rubber spatula until just blended.
7. Pour yolk mixture (step 6) into the rest of egg whites, fold it gently with rubber spatula until blended.
8. Put batter into a 20cm chiffon cake pan, bang the pan on a hard surface to release the bubbles and bake at 170C - 180C for 40 - 45 minutes or till cooked.
9. When the cake is cooked, remove from oven immediately and give it another bang on a hard surface. Then invert the cake to cool. Remove the cake from the cake pan when it is completely cool. "

20-month young and NEED a stroller

Another 4 months Ameer will turn 2 years young. Hhmm.. it's been 20 months since Ameer 'popped' out.. and yet mama is still carrying 'breastfeeding weight'.
Well.. on to that subject later.. now, mama is looking for a new stroller for Ameer. InshaAllah we'll be taking a trip in May.. so Ameer needs a new stroller. Or maybe mama yang wants a new stroller..
Mama has been looking and reading and researching and looking.. and mama came down to 3 strollers; Maclaren Quest, SilverCross POP or Inglesina Swift. So, anybody out there.. if you see any good price on any of these strollers.. do let me know, please. I don't mind buying used stroller as long as it's still function well. I will consider Maclaren VOLO & SilverCross V2 if the price is RIGHT. Mama knows Ameer loves to sit in the V2 when we test drove it last time at BRU, unfortunately the price was NOT right..
I also have 2006 Combi I-Thru & older model of Inglesina reversible-handle stroller to sell if anybody is looking for a stroller..

Changing topic.. Ameer is very talkative and very mobile. He can jump & hop like Baby Bop. He loves to sing Bob the Builder song. He loves to sing Barney song, basically he loves to sing.
Everybody in Sesame Street is 'Elmo' except Big Bird, regardless how many times mama said "Ameer, that's Ernie"... or "Cookie Monster" since mama only knows those 4 characters..
Ameer can 'scold' himself now.. basically he will said.. "NO Ameer.. papa shoes..oucchi!", and yet he is putting on papa shoes and walking around while still repeating what papa/mama said earlier.
Sometimes, he would repeat what mama & papa said after he fall down or banged himself somewhere.
And he loves to scold Flamie, Felix & Chico too.. . If Flamie went into mama's room, he would said.. "Maemae.. OUT! Not nice maemae!". Same goes to Chico & Felix.. Ameer always tells them "Not nice Kiko" or "Not nice Elix".. just like how mama & papa always tells Ameer.. "not nice Ameer!"
Ohh.. our ritual before arriving to school nowadays is to check out horses in this brother's farm. The farm sits on the way to Ameer's school, so every morning before we go to school, we would pass the farm and stop the truck to watch all those horses eating/soaking up the sun/braving the cold wind. InshaAllah, if the weather permits.. we will go and visit those horses soon. Can't wait to let Ameer touch and play with them 
Ok.. that's for now.
And Atul, thanks for the comment below.. yeah.. I can see Madi's resemblance in Ameer now. Anak bapak ler katakan.. but then malam2 carik mama jugak!!

Gosh.. it's been a while

no photo in this entry.. just too busy taking care of everything..
Well.. let me starts with our 9th year anniversary dinner last week. Everything were great, every human & every cat is healthy, the van has been fixed, Ameer got to play with Iman for 2 weekends in a row, so alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah!
Then, the next day, papa started vomitting. Oh Oohh!! He had diarrhea, fever, stomach ache, and all those interesting food poisoning stuff. Apparently papa ate just a little tiny bit of leftover king crab before he went to work this morning. Papa kind of forget that his tummy is very very very sensitive on seafood; seafood has to be extra fresh (another reason we have to move close to the coast  )
Anyway when those ordeal almost over.. someone at work gave papa flu pulak. Dahlah his 1 out of only 2 exams is on Monday. Baru jer last 2 or 3 weeks papa caught cold from Ameer. Dah laa perut tak baik lagi.. dah start ada temperature, runny nose, body ache, cough, and all those 'fun' stuff pulak. Sampai papa has to skip classes & work lagi.. Nasib baik last Thursday was a snow-day-off day.. so tak ler ponteng banyak sangat classes & work..
While all these happens.. Ameer dah start runny nose & cough balik dah.. Ameer was coughing so hard in the morning.. sampai he vomitted his morning 'susu' almost everyday. Right after he vomitted, he would said, "mama.. tumpah! Susu tumpah!" Penat ler mama gelak Susu tumpah from mulut Ameer I guess.. hehe
But alhamdulillah.. Ameer's ordeal just cough during those days.
Anyway, on Friday mama dah start seram sejuk jugak.. And finally, before papa even fully recover.. mama pulak caught flu.. Good bye Dillard's 75% clearance shopping sale. So, the whole weekend, all 3 of us and 3 cats stayed at home... tried to get some rest and did nothing! Papa did study a little bit.. but not much since the drug effect only tylenol extra strength is still in him.
Well.. came Sunday, yesterday, while mama was cleaning up Chico's "accident", mama realize there's a streak of blood in his urine. Ah sudah!! sorang ehh seekor lagi pulak berpenyakit  All the symptoms points to Feline UTI, cuma tak tau which cause that has to be determine by urine sample & x-ray 
So, this morning.. sent Ameer to daycare, and take Chico to the vet.
At this point.. the dr. hasn't get Chico's urine sample yet, hopefully tomorrow morning.
Ameer still have stuffy nose and some congestion.
Mama still have stuffy nose & some congestion.
Papa caught/re-started another round of tummy problem just before he arrive at school for his exams.. Maybe mama should set up dr's appt for papa too
All in all.. alhamdulillah for everything. We still have our limbs, 2 eyes, 2 ears, 10 fingers, mouth, teeth, and everything else. So, thank you Allah for everything, and thank you for reminding us. Alhamdulillah.

Tadi pergi jumpa doctor, and Ameer's lung is clear, Ameer's ear is clear from infection, and his weight is gaining. Alhamdulillah..
By the way, kat bawah nih gambar Ameer enjoying aiskrim malaysia perisa bubur jagung..
No.. not recently! This was taken 3rd of January when he turned 18-month.
Hhmmm.. mama pun tak ingat apa dia makan before that. I don't think it's cake, cause I haven't bake for so long.. Well.. nanti tanya papa.. mesti dia ingat.

BIB FREE.. at last

if you guys didn't realize.. Ameer is bib free now.
Masa dia start runny nose and cough tuh.. around 23rd or 24th January.. I did realize he wasn't drooling anymore. So, alhamdulillah.. he has been bib free since then
Kurang ler sikit laundry papa kena buat...
Moral of value.. next time if I'm pregnant... and I'm craving for raw sushi... I'll just tawakkal and take a bite. Hopefully with that.. my baby won't need a bib.. hehe
